CCLA to award two scholarships at 2018 Scholarship Ceremony

April 24, 2018

Dinner Table

Historically, the Capital City Lawyers Association has awarded summer stipends to deserving law students. These students must demonstrate a commitment to practicing law in the Triangle region and plan to use their legal training and skills to benefit low-income and/or traditionally underserved communities.  The purpose of the scholarship is to (1) provide assistance with law school costs for books and materials or (2) supplement the income of students accepting uncompensated summer employment.

Generous contributions to the CCLA Scholarship Foundation from our members and the community will allow CCLA to award two summer stipends this year.  The stipends will be awarded on May 10, 2018, at the 2018 CCLA Scholarship Ceremony. The 2018 CCLA Scholarship recipients are Lashieka D. Hardin (UNC Law) and Jasmine Symone Jennings (UNC Law).

In addition to the scholarship, CCLA will honor Judge Vince Rozier for his excellent work and commitment to the legal profession and CCLA this year. The CCLA Public Service committee will also recognize Ms. Shirley Fuller for her determination to overcome adversity and pursue a legal education.

Please join us in celebrating these awesome individuals!

*Tickets to the Cermony are $10.00. The last day to RSVP is Friday, May 4, 2018. Space is limited.*
