Youth Law Day – 2015
The next CCLA Youth Law Day is scheduled for February 2016.
In the court system, we regularly see too many young people who make temporary decisions and mistakes that have long term consequences. This is true irrespective of backgrounds. To reduce these negative outcomes, it is important to expose our children to positive experiences and help them understand where negative paths can lead. This program is one of those efforts. It is primarily for students who are between the 7th and 10th grade or 12-15 years old.

Wake County Courthouse

This visit would provide young people with the opportunity to learn about the justice system. It also is our goal to expose them to the different roles of those who work within that system by allowing participants to interact with and question attorneys, judges, and law enforcement officers. This may allow them to consider the different roles as potential professions. Moreover, it is our sincere desire to encourage them to avoid activities that might cause them to become unwilling participants in our criminal justice system.
