May 15, 2019

On behalf of CCLA Member, Niya Fonville

We hope that you are all planning to attend the NC Bar Association Annual Meeting in Asheville. However, even if you do not join for the entire conference, please consider attending our final event of the year—the Legal Legends of Color (LLOC) Reception—on June 21st. Registration is free if you attend the meeting and is only $15.00 for non-registrants.

See the details below on how you can register for the meeting itself or purchase separate tickets to LLOC.

If you’ve been to the NCBA Annual Meeting in the past few years, you know that the Legal Legends of Color Reception is one of the best new traditions on the schedule.

If you haven’t been, make plans to attend this year June 20-23 when the Annual Meeting convenes at Biltmore for the first time ever.  Organized by the NCBA’s Minorities in the Profession Committee, the Legal Legends of Color Reception is a chance to honor leaders who have paved the way. Past honorees include former Chief Justice Henry E. Frye, James E. “Fergie” Ferguson II, and Chief Justice Cheri Lynn Beasley.

The committee will host the fourth LLOC Reception on Friday night, June 21, at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the reception is included at no additional charge with Annual Meeting registration or available to non-registrants here for $15.

Attendees this year can also: Earn 3.0 hours of CLE during the Friday and Saturday morning sessions, included in registration,

Enjoy leisure activities in the afternoons thanks to a revamped meeting schedule, and Access the Biltmore House during the day throughout Annual Meeting for $50. Ticketed events are limited, so please register by May 24.

Annual Meeting attendees can reserve rooms at the DoubleTree near the estate for the discounted cost of $168 per night.
