Justice-elect to the North Carolina Supreme Court Anita Earls will be hiring judicial clerks for January 2019
November 21, 2018
Justice-elect to the North Carolina Supreme Court Anita Earls will be hiring judicial clerks for January 2019, with the expectation that she will hire one experienced clerk (ideally someone who has previously clerked on the NC Supreme Court) and one new graduate from the Class of 2018 who has passed the bar. The duration of these clerkships will be either Jan. 2019-Aug. 2019 or Jan. 2019 – Aug. 2020, to be determined at a future point.
In terms of credentials, Ms. Earls will be considering grades, class rank and prior participation on a law journal, but those are not absolute requirements.
Interested applicants are requested to email the following documents in a single PDF, in the following order, directly to Ms. Earls at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While Ms. Earls did not specifically request a transcript or letters of recommendation or a list of references, you may want to include these documents at the end of your PDF, and include language in your cover letter to the effect that although they have not been specifically requested, I am including my unofficial transcript and a list of references.
As an address and salutation for your cover letter, use the following:
The Honorable Anita Earls
Supreme Court of North Carolina
2 East Morgan Street
Raleigh, NC 27601
Ms. Earls hopes to hire in the next two weeks, so we encourage interested candidates to get your error-free applications in ASAP!
