Volunteers Needed – NC High School Mock Trial Program
February 19, 2024
This message is sent on behalf of the North Carolina High School Mock Trial Program
The North Carolina High School Mock Trial Competition impacts several hundred high school students across the state annually. On Friday and Saturday, March 15 & 16, we will have 12 teams at Campbell Law School who have earned the right to compete at State Finals. They will try a murder case created just for them (great facts and bad facts on BOTH sides of the case).
We need you to serve as scoring jurors or presiding judges over these student trials. Three preliminary trial rounds are held at State Finals – Friday afternoon, 12:45 – 3:30 pm; Saturday morning from 8:45 -11:30 am; and Saturday afternoon from 11:45 am – 2:30 pm. These time slots include a brief orientation, breakfast or lunch, an opportunity to visit a bit with your colleagues, the trials themselves (which last around 90 minutes), and some brief feedback to the student competitors you observed.
This is a great experience to see what these students can do, and a wonderful opportunity just to be inspired by the commitment and hard work these students have put into their roles and the impact of this great civic education program! The winner of the State Finals competition will go on to represent NC at the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Wilmington, DE, May 2-5.

Many thanks for your consideration and support!
