For ten years, the Capital City Lawyers Association’s Youth Law Day has opened courthouse doors and sparked curiosity in young minds across Wake County. What began as a small community outreach program has grown into one of CCLA’s signature annual initiatives, connecting students with the people, places, and principles that shape the justice system.
This milestone year was especially meaningful, marking a decade of partnership between local judges, attorneys, educators, and community leaders working together to inspire the next generation of changemakers.

👩🏽‍⚖️ About Youth Law Day
Each year, middle and high school students participate in:
- Mock trials where they play the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and jurors
- Interactive sessions led by local judges, clerks, and local law enforcement
- Jail Tour with Judge Parker and Sheriff’s Department
- Mentorship moments that help students see themselves in the legal profession
Through these experiences, students not only learn about the law — they learn the power of their voice.
